Ready to turn real-world evidence into decisions that transform cancer care?
As Associate Director, Oncology Outcomes Research, you will lead high‑impact health outcomes and real‑world evidence that define the value of our medicines and accelerate access for patients. You will operate at the center of an asset team, partnering across medical, development, market access and data science to shape strategy and deliver evidence that influences clinical practice and payer decisions.
This is an opportunity to work across global and US markets on programs that matter—from early development through launch and lifecycle management. Could you turn complex data into clear value stories that shift payer requirements and clinical guidelines? Join us to convert evidence into action, advancing an ambitious oncology portfolio with the potential to redefine standards of care.
Accountabilities:
Real‑World Evidence Leadership: Lead the design and execution of real‑world studies and HEOR projects that quantify and communicate asset value across global and US markets.
Asset Strategy Co‑ownership: Support strategy development and lead execution of the asset’s Global and US Regional health outcomes plan, aligned to clinical, payer and market needs.
Scientific Communication and Influence: Present findings at scientific congresses; lead development of peer‑reviewed manuscripts; shape internal and external narratives with clear, evidence‑based insights.
Governance and Scientific Rigor: Partner with the asset lead in review and governance forums to ensure scientific quality and compliance for sponsored research.
Field Impact Enablement: Translate research outputs into practical tools and resources that equip field medical and access teams to communicate value effectively.
Vendor and Budget Management: Select and manage external partners and budgets to deliver high‑quality projects on time and within scope.
Competitive and Market Insight: Maintain deep knowledge of the disease area, competitive landscape, health system dynamics and evolving reimbursement requirements to proactively guide evidence priorities.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, graduate degree strongly preferred (PhD, MS, MPH) in health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research and/or related rigors.
Understanding and knowledge and application of epidemiological/health outcomes methodology within pharmaceutical industry at an international level.
In-depth expertise with research methods for real world research, HEOR projects including pharmacoepidemiologic models.
Knowledge of the Global and US healthcare systems and their changing needs for health economic and payer analytic information.
Scientific expertise in oncology with knowledge of different data sources
Demonstrated expertise in analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills.
Travel-10-15%
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Advanced Scientific degree
Developed conceptual and integrative thinking with capability to access internal and external resources for advice.
Standout teammate and supports the asset team within the O2R organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.

Why AstraZeneca:
Here, evidence changes practice. You will partner with clinicians, data scientists and market access experts to generate and apply real‑world insights that directly shape how medicines are used and reimbursed. Our pipeline is rich and growing, giving you the platform to influence high‑stakes decisions across multiple stages of development and across markets. We value kindness alongside ambition, and we move fast with purpose—bringing diverse perspectives together to turn science into measurable patient impact.
Call to Action:
Step into a role where your evidence drives decisions that matter—submit your application and help us redefine what’s possible for people living with cancer today.
