The Rehabilitation Aide assists therapist teams by preparing treatment areas and providing direct patient care, including toileting and bathing. They are also responsible for maintaining department equipment, stocking supplies, and transporting patients to therapy offices.
A high school diploma is required, and previous experience in the medical field is preferred. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting and moving patients up to 300 lbs and performing various physical tasks like bending and kneeling.
The Rehabilitation Aide will be responsible for assisting therapist/assistant teams in caring for their patients. The aide will prepare treatment areas; assist with toileting and bathing patients, clean equipment, order supplies for the department and perform various duties as assigned. Our department has a need to cover leaves of absence for up to 40 hours per week from now through June along with continued per diem needs following this timeframe.
Must be able to sit for up to thirty minutes at a time. Be able to tolerate standing for thirty to forty-five minutes consecutively and be able to walk on level surfaces, stairs, carpeted surfaces, ramps for up to thirty minutes consecutively. Must have the ability to lift/move patients up to 300 lbs., push/pull patients weighting up to 300 lbs. Must have the ability to occasionally stoop/bend, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level. Must be capable of tactile sensation as it relates to feeling for muscle spasms, textures and skin temperature. Must have the ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation and ability to hear call bells. Must be capable of seeing as it relates to general vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.
High School Diploma.
Preferred experience in the medical field.
Per Diem, first shift, 7am-3:30pm. Expectation of working at least one weekend every month.
