Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers to meet Company and DOT standards. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues while maintaining accurate work order documentation and inventory controls.
Requires a technical certification or degree in diesel engines or electronics and at least 2 years of relevant repair experience. Candidates must possess basic hand tools and be capable of performing heavy physical labor in various weather conditions.
Description
Truck/Trailer Mechanics are responsible for performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on truck and trailer units to Company and DOT standards. Mechanics are the service provider as well as diagnostic technician and troubleshooter. Mechanics are also responsible for inventory controls, processing order paperwork, and maintaining equipment. Mechanics are relied on daily to keep our fleet of trucks and trailers in top condition.
Requirements
Experience : A technical school certification or advanced degree in diesel engines, electronics, and/or related field, minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in medium to heavy duty truck repairs.
Tools: Must utilize basic hand and air operated tools to satisfactorily perform this job. Employee responsible for supplying all basic hand tools. Power and specialty tools will be supplied by the company.
