Summary/Objective:
The Vacuum Truck Operator will perform a wide range of physical activities that require strength and flexibility of whole body for handling, positioning, moving, and manipulating equipment and materials and vacuum truck operations. The Vacuum Truck Operator will be responsible for driving and operating efficiently and safely all power equipment and vehicles in accordance with DOT laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
May include, but are not limited to, the following
Operate and set up all necessary equipment in accordance with operation training, guidelines and safety procedures.
Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and industrial settings.
Manually clean, install, fit repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and all other external and internal equipment.
Assist in general maintenance of company equipment, service, grease, etc.
Wash and clean company equipment – Pressure wash, clean cabs, etc.
General housekeeping – sweeping floors, taking out trash, and helping keep work areas clean and organized.
Help with future job load outs or unloads from previous jobs – Return equipment and PPE back to designated areas.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
1 year’s experience required behind an 18-wheeler.
Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL.
Must have a tanker endorsement.
No RESTRICTIONS. Must be legally allowed to drive a manual transmission truck.
Must possess a valid TWIC card or be willing to obtain one.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen to include hair follicle and urine.
Must possess a Medical Examiner’s Certificate or be able to obtain one.
Must be capable of passing a personal background screen.
Must be capable of passing an MVR background screen.
Must be able to travel for extended periods of time.
Willing to respond to emergency calls 24 hours, 7 days a week as needed.
Willing to perform all required job duties in accordance with training.
Willing to perform all job duties in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Willing to understand and follow all given directions.
Physical Requirements:
Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned.
Physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
Physically capable of standing and/or walking continuously for long periods of time.
Physically capable of climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
Physically capable of working in all inclement weather conditions.
