Job Description
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of project wins across AECOM’s Building Engineering business, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Adelaide.
This role is suited to an experienced building services engineer who is looking to further develop their technical leadership capability while contributing to complex and high-profile projects across the aviation, defence, healthcare, data centre, education, commercial and transport sectors.
Working within a collaborative and nationally connected team, you will play a key role in delivering technically challenging projects, mentoring emerging engineers, and supporting sustainable outcomes for our clients and communities.
How you'll make a difference:
Lead the preparation and coordination of technical electrical design documentation across a variety of building services projects, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective project delivery.
Contribute to the planning, design and delivery of major multidisciplinary projects while mentoring and supporting junior engineers within the broader team.
Provide specialised technical advice across projects, applying your knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC requirements and industry best practice to review calculations, specifications and drawings.
Lead electrical components of projects across sectors including healthcare, aviation, defence, education, commercial, data centres and transport precincts.
Liaise with internal stakeholders across AECOM’s multidisciplinary engineering teams, contributing to client-facing activities and supporting strong project outcomes.
Undertake site inspections, design reviews and construction-phase services while continuing to develop your leadership and project delivery capabilities.

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with ideally 5+ years’ experience delivering building services projects within a consulting or contractor environment.
Experience in electrical building services design including lighting, general and specialist power, earthing/lightning protection, power distribution and reticulation systems.
Sound understanding of Australian Standards, NCC requirements and authority approval processes, with experience reviewing technical calculations, specifications and design documentation.
Experience delivering projects across buildings sectors, with exposure to aviation, healthcare, defence, data centres or transport infrastructure highly regarded.
Proficiency using industry-standard software including ETAP, PowerCAD, Revit, AGi32 and Microsoft Office Suite.
Relevant registration or qualifications such as RPEQ, RPEV or CPEng (or working towards) highly regarded.
Due to the nature of some of our projects, Australian Citizenship is required with current (or the ability to obtain) defence clearance.
