The Turf Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining athletic venues through tasks such as mowing, fertilization, irrigation, and equipment upkeep. The role requires working a non-standard schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays while maintaining professional interactions with staff and student-athletes.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of grounds maintenance experience, and a valid driver's license. Preferred qualifications include a degree in Horticulture or Agronomy and a Florida Restricted Use Pesticide Applicators License.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: |

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for a Turf Groundskeeper to assist with turf and grounds maintenance at the University Athletic Association, Inc. athletic venues. This includes but is not limited to: operating reel mowers; carrying out fertilization programs, spray schedules, and watering requirements; and performing facility and equipment maintenance. This position requires the incumbent to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with coaching staff, coworkers, student-athletes, fans, and vendors; follow directions and adhere to work schedules; occasionally lift up to 60 pounds and sustain the weight of a 34 pound backpack blower for extended periods of time; be efficient, flexible, detail-oriented, and self-motivated; work independently and as part of a collaborative team; multitask effectively; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds; and work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
