SE Ventures is a $1B global venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, CA, currently deploying its $500M Fund II, backed by Schneider Electric.
SE Ventures invests in bold entrepreneurs across energy tech, industrial tech, and enterprise AI. The firm has invested in more than 50 startups, including 8 unicorns — Claroty, Together AI, Scandit, BuildOps, Enable, Augury, Verkor, and Skild AI — with recent European investments including Ostrom, Makersite, Nodes & Links, and Dexory.
Location
This role is based in France, in Rueil-Malmaison (preferably) or in Grenoble.
Your role
Within SE Ventures’ Europe investment team, you will join at Principal level.
You will work closely with the General Partners and be highly involved in all phases of the investment process.
Your missions
- Proactively source high-quality Series A/B/C investment opportunities across Europe, with a focus on software and asset-light energy tech, industrial tech, and enterprise AI.
- Lead end-to-end due diligence, including customer interviews, market analysis, competitive landscaping, and financial modeling.
- Actively engage with portfolio companies as a board observer or director.
- Work closely with SE Ventures’ Operating Partners to identify strategic partnership opportunities between portfolio companies and Schneider Electric.
- Represent SE Ventures at startup and industry events, building long-term relationships across the European ecosystem.
Your profile
- You have 3–6 years of investing experience at a top-tier VC firm or corporate VC in Europe.
- Your experience is ideally complemented by prior experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, and/or as a startup founder.
- You bring a strong track record of Series A/B/C software investments in Europe, ideally in energy tech, industrial tech, and enterprise AI.
- You have excellent analytical skills and strong financial modeling capabilities.
- You have a strong academic background and are fluent in English.

- Ability to identify and qualify high-quality investment opportunities.
- Analytical rigor, strong attention to detail, and ability to structure complex due diligence processes.
- High level of organization, autonomy, proactivity, and ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work with General Partners, Operating Partners, entrepreneurs, and external ecosystems.
- Excellent communication and representation skills across startup, VC, and industry ecosystems.

For this France based position, the expected pay range is EUR 119.680 - EUR 179.520 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives (annual bonus) at target. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located in France. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Individual’s compensation is positioned within the range based on several factors such as knowledge, job-related skills, experience, potential and relevant education or training.
