Position Overview:

This role will be part of the Blackline COE providing subject matter expertise within the accounting organization and will work with the Manager, GBS Global Blackline as the facilitators educating and reviewing Blackline functionality amongst the global accounting teams. Reporting to the Manager, GBS Global Blackline, the analyst will support regular monitoring and system maintenance related to monthly account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, journal entries, task management and reporting analytics.

This role calls for the capability to work cross-functionally with IT, data assurance, and accounting contacts at a variety of levels. Additionally, this role requires a high level of interaction with and oversight of individuals across the globe. Looking for someone keen on continuous improvement with strong initiative. Key opportunities for enhancement include implementing Blackline technologies across Kraft Heinz’ global footprint, current module upgrades, and expanding the use of automation and analytics to create efficiencies. Compiling reporting will also be a key addition to this role which includes maintenance of core activities related to control and compliance.

Specific Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

System Administration:

• Maintaining the BlackLine platform, including user roles, permissions, and security settings.
• Supporting system updates and upgrades.
• Work with Kraft Heinz Security Provisioning Platform (i.e. Saviynt) to enable structured approval processes
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues internally or via raising tickets with Blackline.
• Ensuring data integrity and security within the BlackLine system.
• Supporting new entity and other master data set-up is configured in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform routine system tasks, such as period and calendar maintenance, report customization and extraction, and monitoring the timeliness of reconciliations
• Monitor imports and interfaces from subledgers and local ERPs into the system and troubleshoot issues
• Participate in meetings with Blackline and Consultants to discuss issues and process improvement initiatives
• Ensuring Blackline interfaces are tested regularly and are working well to avoid issues with the month end financial close- research issues as needed.

User Support:

• Providing training and support to BlackLine users on system functionality and best practices.
• Troubleshooting user issues and resolving problems related to the BlackLine platform.
• Maintaining user documentation and training materials.
• Coordinate and provide guidance and support on requests related to user access roles, reconciliation assignment, organization structure, etc.
• Provide guidance to local system admins as needed

• Testing of the Blackline software program to ensure newly implemented and existing functionality is working as intended

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others

Financial Process Alignment:

• Executing strategic projects under the guidance of Blackline COE management to meet the needs of business users and ensure BlackLine is configured to support their processes.
• Identifying opportunities to optimize BlackLine usage and improve efficiency.
• Collaborating with finance and IT teams on system integrations and enhancements.
• Standardizing the user of the Blackline Tool across regions to develop process excellence
• Serve as subject matter expert for projects relating to Blackline, such as the implementation of Blackline modules (i.e. journal entries), ERP implementations and automation enhancements

• Defining & driving strategy, implementing automation, improving user satisfaction & operational efficiencies to obtain assessable business value

• Participating in broader Blackline related projects and proactively identifying technologies that can improve productivity in Blackline and beyond - such as Intercompany hub, transaction matching, etc.

Reporting and Analysis:

• Generating reports and dashboards for track system usage and performance.
• Analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement. 
• Support financial audits including internal, external, and SOX

Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency:

Strong understanding of financial systems, particularly accounting and financial close processes. Experience with BlackLine is required. SAP and HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) experience is considered an asset. Background in working with FTP Servers and API connections is also an asset.

• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions.

• Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with users, stakeholders, and technical teams.

• Organizational and Time Management Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. 

• Accounting Background

Basic understanding of accrual-based fundamental accounting principles

• Experience

At least 2 years of related work experience.
