Spanish/English language required.
Provides professional supervision and observes interactions between parents and children; maintains a safe environment for clients; provides necessary objective documentation; ensures adherence to center guidelines; provides general case management and administrative tasks, and child orientations.
Completes necessary administrative tasks such as contact notes, observation notes, timesheets, checking phone messages, returning calls, and distributing and assisting clients with paperwork.
Attends monthly staffing meetings and trainings/reviews electronic correspondence.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequirements: Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or similar field OR any equivalent combination of work experience, education, and skills, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities with a minimum of two years of experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, mental health, substance abuse or related areas. Bilingual, English/Spanish required.
Knowledge of domestic violence and battering tactics.
Knowledge of the psychosocial needs of youth at various stages of development.
Ability to work as a team member with other staff members.
Ability to interact well with diverse populations.
Ability to provide appropriate interventions and referrals for each family.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records.
Skilled in redirection and de-escalation techniques.
Ability to de-escalate and redirect parents while maintaining a safe environment
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work primarily evenings and weekends.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.
Work may be performed in an office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like but not limited to the office environment.

The Family Place is a nonprofit agency that helps families hurt by domestic violence. All services are provided are provided free of charge, with exception of Supervised Child Visitation and the Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP). All services are also available in English and Spanish. What We Do: OUR MISSION The Family Place empowers victims of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence. For victims of family violence, The Family Place is the Dallas area’s leading organization delivering proven programs that address emotional and physical abuse and incest. The Family Place provides free, comprehensive services that prevent violence and fully support women, children and men on their path from fear to safety. In 2024, we provided services to 40,150 individuals, including 42,140 nights of emergency shelter, 20,805 nights of transitional housing, 4,480 hours of counseling, 6,970 hours of case management, and 6,601 hours of court-ordered psychoeducational groups for batterers. All of our services are offered in both Spanish and English.
