Responsibilities
Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Senior Health Program Coordinator to work in the Office of Health Equity and Human Rights (OHEHR) within the New York State Department of Health.
The Senior Health Program Coordinator will assist in the coordination of programmatic and policy support activities supporting the Office of Health Equity and Human Rights Office of the Deputy Commissioner priorities and initiatives, inclusive of a dedicated focus on sickle cell disease. The Senior Health Program Coordinator will also coordinate stakeholder meetings organized and led by the Office of Health Equity and Human Rights Office of the Deputy Commissioner, in an effort to ensure organizational, regional, and cross-disciplinary alignment and coordination of public health efforts. The Senior Health Program Coordinator will work collaboratively across programs to support advisory council activities and support community partnership development. The Senior Health Program Coordinator will also provide contractual and transaction support, assist in the coordination with special projects, and perform other appropriate related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience contributing to the coordination of program activities in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Work experience with applied practice of the principles of health equity and sickle cell disease.
Experience working with a variety of stakeholders (i.e. government representatives, community leaders, underserved communities, community-based organizations, Local Health Departments academic and research organizations, etc.).
Experience with planning, convening, facilitating, and supporting stakeholder meetings (i.e. advisory boards, committees, councils, workgroups).
Demonstrated, strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience in public health quality improvement activities, including developing indicators using findings to support program planning.
Experience working with confidential data.
Experience managing contractual relationships and/or provisions of technical assistance to service providers, programs and/or vendors.
Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Travel up to 25% of the time will be required.
The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of onsite and remote work.

Work Location Expectations
At HRI, the nature of hybrid and onsite work varies by position. Some roles require full onsite presence, while others allow a hybrid schedule. If designated as hybrid, you will divide your time between working remotely and reporting onsite.
