The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive occupational and preventive healthcare services, including clinical evaluations, injury management, and return-to-work planning. They will also oversee medical surveillance programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
Candidates must hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing and possess an active Maryland APRN license with national certification. At least 5 years of clinical experience in occupational health or a related field and FMCSA Medical Examiner certification are required.

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) within the Environmental Health & Safety Group is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive occupational and preventive healthcare services to APL staff. This role functions at the provider level, delivering independent assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and regulatory oversight in collaboration with the Medical Director, Medical Review Officer (MRO), and Occupational Health nursing team. Working collaboratively with occupational health nurses, EHS professionals, and external healthcare providers, you will provide medical expertise across a broad range of occupational health programs.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
