We are a fashion focused e-commerce site, Rakuten Fashion.

Rakuten Ichiba is a mall-type business that provides a platform for stores to sell their products, on contrast to Rakuten Fashion, which is a direct sales-type business where Rakuten selects and buys brands and products on its own, and handles marketing, sales, shipping, and customer support.

This is the site that selects products from Japan's major select stores and brands, and focuses on popular and well-known brands such as nano・universe, URBAN RESEARCH, BEAMS, snidel, and GLOBAL WORK. The number of international brands has been increasing in the last few years.

As a business, we are trying to achieve very high mid-term goals and are continuing to make large investments in the following areas.

• Promote the development of loyal customers through the development and enhancement of smartphone applications.
• Promote the acquisition of new customers through continuous mass marketing such as TV commercials.

Why We Hire

We are promoting multifaceted reinforcement of our business platform strategy to achieve the mid-term goals of the Rakuten Fashion business, including the following.

• Improvement of logistics operations and systems to raise the level of delivery service for users
• Management of product life cycle to improve inventory turnover
• Building various business and system platforms to improve CRM
• Building a platform for utilizing big data of Rakuten Fashion, and establishing an operational structure
• Conclude and promote strategic alliances for business expansion (with apparel companies and partners)
• Planning of new services for users and apparel companies

We are looking for someone who can identify issues to be solved and lead the planning and execution of solutions for the above business strategy themes.

Position Details

Summary

As the person in charge (or in charge) of a specific project in the area of responsibility, you will be responsible for analyzing various current situations, planning solutions, and executing them in order to resolve mid-term strategic issues.

Since this is a cross-business study, you will be responsible for promoting the project while collaborating not only with internal departments such as sales, marketing, logistics, CS, and development, but also with various related parties including external partner companies and apparel companies.

This is a position where you can hone your overall ability to promote business. This position will enable you to gain experience not only in strategic planning and consideration, but also in the execution phase of various projects.

Details

You will lead a team as needed and perform the following tasks in cooperation with your superior.

• Analyze the current status of the area of responsibility, and investigate and analyze problems.
• Identify essential issues through various types of analysis, and consider fundamental solutions that are not front and back (using Excel and PPT)
• Adjustment and negotiation with internal departments (sales, marketing, logistics, CS, etc.) and external partners in the analysis of various issues, planning and implementation of solutions.
• Prepare various materials necessary for business decision-making and lead executive discussions

Work Environment

Personnel: About 120 for the entire department, 15 for sections and 6 for groups

Age range: Mainly in their late 20s to 30s             

• Strategy consulting firms
• Strategy and service planning backgrounds at business companies

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Strategic planning or business development experience in business operation company or business management/strategic consulting firm
• Basic knowledge of e-commerce

Desired Qualifications:

• Business planning in fashion industry
• BI Tool, SQL knowledge
• Business analysis, Business planning experience by using Power point, Excel (vlookup, pivot function)

Additional information on English Qualification

TOEIC Score exceeding 800 (or similar level of English ability) or a University Degree earned in an English-speaking country

*TOEIC Score of 600 or higher is acceptable for fixed-term employees.

In this case, it is necessary to achieve a TOEIC Score exceeding 800 after joining Rakuten to be eligible to become a regular employee.

If no evidence is available to prove the qualifications denoted above, taking an IP test, organized by Rakuten, during selection process is required.
