The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.
Position Summary
In this position as Director of Fundraising, Individual Giving, you will own The Family Place's individual donor revenue, from major gifts and mid-level giving to annual campaigns, building the relationships and systems that keep donors engaged, growing, and connected to our mission. You'll manage an active portfolio of major donors, lead solicitations from cultivation through close, and design annual giving campaigns that drive participation and retention at every level. With a strong command of CRM data and a relationship-first mindset, you'll keep the pipeline healthy and the numbers moving.

Key Responsibilities
Individual Giving Strategy & Portfolio Management
Manage a personal portfolio of major donor prospects with systematic moves management and consistent outreach. Build and maintain a strong individual giving pipeline across major gifts, mid-level donors, and annual fund contributors. Develop and implement annual fundraising plans with clear goals, timelines, and performance metrics. Track portfolio progress and report on pipeline activity, revenue performance, and donor engagement.
Major Gift Fundraising
Conduct donor meetings, presentations, and solicitations to secure major gifts and meaningful upgrades. Develop tailored cultivation strategies for individual donors aligned with their interests and giving capacity. Partner with the Senior Vice President of Fundraising on solicitation strategy, relationship advancement, and stewardship for top-tier donors.
Annual Campaigns & Donor Retention
Design and lead annual giving campaigns that inspire broad participation and support revenue growth across the donor base. Use audience segmentation and personalized messaging to maximize response rates and retention. Develop upgrade strategies that move mid-level donors toward deeper engagement and giving. Analyze campaign results and apply data-driven improvements from cycle to cycle.
Donor Stewardship & Engagement
Ensure timely, meaningful stewardship that deepens donor connection and loyalty throughout the year. Track all donor interactions, next steps, and engagement activity in Raiser's Edge with accuracy and consistency. Use move management tools effectively to keep cultivation and solicitation strategies on track.
CRM & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, contact reports, and prospect research in Raiser's Edge. Provide regular reporting on individual giving metrics, pipeline health, and goal attainment. Analyze giving trends to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with senior staff, Board members, and program teams to identify cultivation opportunities and connect donors to The Family Place's work. Partner across the Development team to align individual giving efforts with broader fundraising priorities.
Other Duties
Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. 5+ years of fundraising experience with demonstrated success managing donor portfolios.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the Dallas philanthropic community preferred. Experience conducting major gift solicitations and managing donors through a moves management process with demonstrated ability to make direct asks and close high-value commitments. Deep understanding of fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices across multiple revenue streams (major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, planned giving, special events). Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills with ability to connect with diverse stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including compelling storytelling and case for support development. Ability to influence, inspire, and lead diverse stakeholders toward shared fundraising goals. Ability to think strategically while remaining execution-oriented and results-driven with a strong focus on revenue generation Proven ability to build and manage a pipeline and convert prospects into committed revenue. Experience working with or transitioning into mission-driven or nonprofit environments is a plus, but not required. Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and ability to translate vision into execution.
Mental and Physical Duties
Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing, walking, and with occasional need for driving to pick up or deliver items. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs). Ability to tolerate ambiguity and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Working Conditions
Work may be performed, but is not limited to an office environment. Ability to work some weekends and evening hours for special projects.
Essential Personnel Designation: Non-Essential
