The HVAC Production Engineer resolves production and regulatory issues for HVAC and refrigeration systems through field investigations and design revisions. They coordinate with production, planning, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful installation and commissioning of systems onboard vessels.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Marine, Mechanical, or Naval Engineering, or an Associate's degree with 4 years of shipbuilding experience. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience with HVAC system design or installation and proficiency in 2D CAD.
The HVAC Production Engineer will help to resolve production and regulatory issues. They will interface with various parties including production, planning, procurement, other engineering departments, design subcontractors, owner, classification society, and USCG to complete these activities.
About 50% of the time will be in the field and 50% in the office.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
The HVAC Production Engineer should expect to engage in regular field work in the shipyard's fabrication shops, dry docks, warehouse, and onboard vessels as part of the above activities. Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Since the job functions require the individual to enter the production areas, they should have a range of motion sufficient to perform occasional bending, stooping, climbing, standing, etc. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing the medical examination. This is an on-site, full-time, salaried position. Monday through Friday with flexible start time.
