You will own the design, fabrication, and implementation of custom tooling and material handling systems for satellite production. You will also lead the development of production fixtures and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support large-scale qualification testing.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and at least 8 years of industry experience in mechanical or electromechanical design. Proficiency in CAD/FEA software and hands-on fabrication experience in aerospace or similar complex mechanical environments is required.

With multiple launches in 2027 and plans to scale to 100 satellites a year, we're Building Bigger — helping develop the solar system and build toward a Kardashev Type II (K2) civilization. The Role
You will own the success of custom tooling and structures that will be key to our satellite production and operations. In your first year at K2, you’ll work closely with the production teams to help shape build process decisions, architect tooling systems, and execute on individual tools that will support scaling our manufacturing and operations rate and support performing large-scale qualification testing for our multi-ton spacecraft. You will implement and deliver tooling solutions via a combination of hands-on build and collaboration with in-house and out-of-house fabrication resources. Throughout the process you will be hands-on support, educating end customer teams and validating tool performance alongside them. You’ll have an opportunity to help shape the company’s foundational tooling strategies and processes as we look forward to our mass-abundant goals.
