The Senior Design Engineer leads the design, development, and improvement of complex aerospace products, systems, and components using SolidWorks. Candidates must have at least 8 years of progressive engineering design experience and an Associate’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in SolidWorks and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance are mandatory requirements.
FMS Aerospace is seeking qualified candidates for full-time employment as a Senior Design Engineer at our Huntsville, Alabama location. The qualified candidate will be responsible for supporting 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and drawing development for various aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will be able to exhibit expertise of Solidworks 3D CAD software, have a clear understanding of ASME Y14 and MIL-STD-31000A specifications, possess strong communications skills, and a strong self-motivated work ethic.
This role is responsible for leading the design, development, and improvement of complex engineering products, systems, and components. This role combines advanced technical expertise with project leadership, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, quality objectives, and manufacturing considerations. The Senior Design Engineer also serves as a technical mentor to junior engineers and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
