You will be responsible for bench characterization of leading-edge HSIO subsystem components and high-speed IO interfaces. Additionally, you will evaluate parametric performance and perform failure analysis to root-cause design problems.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field with relevant industry experience. Proficiency in DDR protocols, HSIO IPs, and bench instrumentation is required.
The BDC HSIO Post Silicon Engineering group has an opening for a Digital Bench Characterization Engineer.
As part of the HSIO Post Silicon Engineering group, you will be responsible for bench characterization of leading-edge LPDDR & PCDDR subsystem components (DRAM, DRAM Controller, DRAM PHY, IOs, PLL/DLL, Clocking architecture, Delay circuits, Power Distribution Network) and high-speed IO interfaces (PCIe, USB2/3/4, DisplayPort, HDMI, MIPI-CSI/DSI, UFS & PLL).
You will:
Evaluate parametric performance of DDR & High-Speed IO IPs
Perform failure analysis to root-cause design problems
You’ll work closely with IC design engineering, system engineering, and hardware applications teams across the globe in a time-critical environment.
Qualifications
M.Tech, B.Tech, or equivalent in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
3 years of related work experience
Skills & Knowledge
Familiarity with test and characterization of DDR and High-Speed IO interfaces
In-depth understanding of:
Mobile & PC DDR protocols (DDR2/3/4), timing diagrams
HSIO IPs at PHY level
Electrical parametric compliance specs (eye diagram, differential signaling, jitter analysis, Receiver-Jitter-Tolerance, signal integrity, transmission line considerations, de-embedding)
Decent understanding of VLSI technologies, analog/digital ICs, and semiconductor physics
Hands-on experience with bench instruments (oscilloscopes, BERT, network/spectrum analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers) is a plus
Programming skills: Python, C, C# (or equivalent)
Soft Skills
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
