About the role:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This hands-on role responds to equipment breakdowns, completes scheduled maintenance, diagnoses mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, and works collaboratively with production teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability. The Maintenance Technician follows all safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate maintenance documentation and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Through strong technical skills, accountability, and a commitment to operational excellence, this position plays a vital role in supporting production goals and ensuring the facility operates efficiently.
You’ll get to:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machines and plant facility equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and complete scheduled and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and work orders; diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
Safely use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment while detecting and reporting faulty operations or unusual conditions to supervision.
Comply with all safety regulations, maintain clean and orderly work areas, demonstrate computer competency (including Microsoft Office), and perform other duties as assigned.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Support cross-functional teams, including production and sanitation, by providing technical guidance and maintenance expertise to resolve recurring issues.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts inventory documentation, and work order updates while participating in training and skill development initiatives. Perform calibration, verification, and basic maintenance of lab testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
And the fun part is:
This role provides the opportunity to lead a skilled maintenance team while remaining actively involved in hands-on maintenance work. You'll play a critical role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, supporting production success, and developing team members. You'll work closely with operations, quality, and leadership teams while helping drive continuous improvement throughout the facility.
