The Trade Compliance Specialist manages daily import and export operations while ensuring strict adherence to U.S. Customs, FDA, and USDA regulations. They are responsible for coordinating international shipments, overseeing customs broker activities, and maintaining supply chain security programs.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field and possess at least five years of industry experience in trade compliance. A professional trade compliance certification or U.S. Customs Broker license is preferred.

The Trade Compliance Specialist, Transportation & Customs Compliance is responsible for managing day-to-day tasks necessary to import and/or export Boehringer Ingelheim's pharmaceutical products while complying with U.S. Customs & Border Protection, FDA and USDA regulations & requirements.
Main responsibilities for this role include coordination of international shipments, submitting ISF filings, tracking shipment milestones, managing shipping documentation, processing FTZ shipments, filing export declarations (EEI), managing supply chain security, ensuring customs & trade compliance (customs broker oversight), and verifying customs duties & freight payment.
To achieve this core objective, the Trade Compliance Specialist, Transportation & Customs Compliance works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including global colleagues, government officials, freight forwarders, customs brokers and other professionals in the international supply chain.
This role is based on-site at our Columbus, OH location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site.
