Sorts, inspects, and packages products for shipping or warehousing. Cleans and maintains plant and related facilities.
Works individually or in a group along a conveyor, bagger operation, or table to sort, inspect, and package products.
Assembles, folds, and tapes cartons, inserts, or boxes into which product is to be placed.
Bags or boxes products with gloved hands, sorts and inspects products for imperfections and places in proper scrap containers.
Dates, tapes, labels, and hand stacks cartons when necessary.
Cleans walls, windows, partitions, sinks, phones, equipment, drinking fountains, and doors by sweeping, scrubbing, washing, and dusting throughout the facility as directed.
Picks up string, sticks, slip sheets, pallets, cardboard, and other debris by hand inside and outside the facility.
Uses container washer to clean utensils, rework containers, and other accessories.
Keeps work area clean and orderly.
Weighs and records scrap and other production data as required.
Advises supervisor of any work-related issues and/or needs.
Complies with all safety rules and procedures and wears required PPE.
Supports the organization’s commitment to ensure that our food safety and quality plans conform to all regulatory requirements and with food quality and safety requirements of our customers and report any problems or potential problems observed concerning food safety and quality to Supervision immediately.
Follows all Spangler Candy Company policies and procedures.
Performs and completes other work as assigned by supervisor.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Minimum of High School diploma or GED.
Good vision, color vision, hearing, speaking, and finger dexterity skills as well as ability to perform close work. Ability to work under time pressure, work rapidly for long periods, sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, climb, lift, and/or carry up to approximately 48 lbs.
Ability to read, write, complete basic math activities, and follow instructions. Ability to draw conclusions from a visual and/or physical inspection of products along with the ability to weigh/measure material, and report production information.
Scales, utility knives, gloves, code daters, container washer, hand tapers, brooms, mop, dust mop, and required PPE.
Fast paced assembly line type work with some exposure to moderate temperatures, dust, dirt, vibrations, noise, and cramped areas. Occasionally exposed to but not limited to cuts, slips, trips, sprains, and strains.
