As a Deli Bakery Associate at Military Deli & Bakery Services you will have the opportunity to serve our nation’s Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. At MDBS our number one goal is to demonstrate a love for food and a passion for people while creating excellent customer service experience for our well-deserving military customers!
This is Not a government job- Everyone welcome!
Decorate a cake in 15-20 minutes start to finish.
Fill production cases and/or stock the floor or display tables with baked goods.
Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service, teamwork with positive communication, and assist other team members as needed.
Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment, and proper food handling/preparation.
Demonstrate the ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
Must be 18 years of age
Experience in retail cake decorating
Willing to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed
Effective and friendly communication skills
Knowledge of basic math and the ability to follow written guidelines
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation
Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift
Tolerates working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time
Team player

Military Deli & Bakery Services, Inc. (MDBS) is the largest operator of Deli and Bakery departments in military commissaries. Military commissaries are government owned shopping facilities operated by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). DeCA commissaries look much like a commercial supermarket except they are located on military bases. Commissaries sell groceries and household goods to military service members and their families. Large commissaries include a Deli and Bakery department. These departments look much like those departments found in commercial supermarkets. Due to the special knowledge required to operate these specialty departments, commissary Deli and Bakery departments in the US are operated by commercial companies under contract with the US Government.
