Full Time Permanent hybrid role
Help create a workplace where every person feels seen, heard, valued and that they belong
Exciting things are happening at Catholic Healthcare. We have celebrated 30 years of providing care and have grown to more than 6,000 employees. Our Mission is to promote the dignity, life and spirituality of older people through connected and inclusive communities.
We’re looking for a warm, thoughtful and experienced Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Specialist to help bring our DEIB approach to life across Catholic Healthcare. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Chief People Officer and work closely with leaders and teams to create a more inclusive, equitable and culturally safe workplace where people feel respected, valued and able to thrive.
If you’re passionate about building belonging, strengthening inclusive leadership and turning good ideas into practical initiatives that make a real difference, this role offers the opportunity to help shape the employee experience across a purpose-led organisation.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Help shape and deliver Catholic Healthcare’s DEIB strategy, aligned with our Mission, values, organisational priorities and Catholic social teaching
Design and lead initiatives that foster equity, celebrate diversity and build a genuine sense of belonging
Work with leaders and teams to identify and remove barriers to inclusion across the employee lifecycle
Build inclusive leadership capability and support fair, engaging practices across recruitment, development, progression and workforce planning
Support meaningful initiatives across workplace gender equality, age inclusion, intergenerational inclusion and culturally and linguistically diverse inclusion
Create opportunities for employees to be heard through advisory groups, listening forums and inclusion networks
Develop awareness campaigns, events and practical resources that build understanding, confidence and connection
Use employee feedback, survey insights and workforce metrics to understand what’s working and where we can keep improving
Support DEIB governance activities, including Steering Committee coordination, reporting, dashboards and annual impact reporting
Help ensure we continue to meet relevant legislative and reporting requirements, including Workplace Gender Equality Agency obligations
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Psychology, Business or a related discipline
5+ years’ experience in a senior People and Culture, Organisational Development or DEIB-related role
Experience leading diversity, inclusion, cultural change or workforce participation initiatives
A strong understanding of gender equality, age inclusion, cultural diversity, cultural safety and belonging frameworks
Knowledge of relevant Australian legislation, including anti-discrimination, equal employment opportunity, workplace respect and Workplace Gender Equality Agency requirements
Confidence working with governance frameworks, workforce metrics and Executive-level reporting
A natural ability to build trusted relationships, facilitate conversations and influence positive change
Strong project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A genuine interest in contributing to a Catholic, faith-based mission organisation
A values-led approach that reflects courage, integrity and compassion
What we can offer you:
The chance to do meaningful work that supports older people, their communities and the employees who care for them
A welcoming, values-led organisation where inclusion, connection and compassion are central to our purpose
The opportunity to influence culture, capability and belonging across a large and diverse workforce
Family leave – extra 7 days per annum
Not-for-profit tax benefits so you pay less tax
Fitness Passport discounted gym benefits
Paid Parental leave
Long Service leave after 5 years
Discounted personal health insurance
At Catholic Healthcare, we welcome applicants from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds. If you’re passionate about helping people feel seen, heard, respected and known — and you’re excited by the opportunity to create positive change in a purpose-led organisation — we’d love to hear from you.
