The role involves practicing as a Registered Nurse in the theatre, supervising staff, and ensuring the unit operates at the highest standards. Responsibilities include managing drug scheduling, maintaining equipment, and complying with SANC legislation.
Candidates must be SANC registered nurses with a valid APC and preferably two or more years of experience as a Scrub Sister. Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to work independently and additional hours are required.
Must be able to practice within your scope of practice as a Registered Nurse.
Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures and protocols.
Must be competent with the Hospitals Policies and Regulations.
Ability to lead and supervise staff in theatre.
Must have experience in handling drugs and scheduling is a legal requirement.
Equipment maintenance and motivations.
Ability to teach staff in the unit.
To ensure that Theatre is always running at the highest standards
Comply with SANC and stakeholder legislation.
Must be registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse with valid
APC.
Good interpersonal skills with doctors, patients and colleagues is
essential.
Preferably have two or more years of experience as a Scrub Sister.
Preferably be trained or qualified.
Must be prepared to work additional hours.
Must have excellent telephone skills.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision.
Must be computer literate MS Word & Excel.
