Role
Overview
The District Coordinator provides overall leadership
and operational coordination for district-level implementation of the project.
The role is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring field
activities, ensuring effective coordination between study teams, schools,
public health systems, and community stakeholders. The District Coordinator
supports quality implementation of project activities, ensures adherence to
ethical and operational protocols, and facilitates timely reporting and
communication between district teams and the central project management unit.
The ideal candidate will possess strong programme
management skills, experience working within public health or community-based
projects, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining
project timelines and quality standards.
Key
Responsibilities
Programme
Coordination and Implementation
- Lead
district-level implementation of project activities in alignment with project
goals and timelines.
- Coordinate
closely with study teams, counsellors, schools, and community stakeholders to
ensure smooth execution of field activities.
- Develop
and maintain district workplans, schedules, and activity trackers.
- Ensure
adherence to project SOPs, ethical guidelines, and data protection standards.
Stakeholder
Engagement and Partnerships
- Build
and maintain relationships with district health authorities, school
administrators, local leaders, and community partners.
- Facilitate
coordination with ASHAs, ANMs, school staff, and local health systems to
support screening and referral processes.
- Represent
the project at district-level meetings and coordination forums where required.
Team
Supervision and Capacity Building
- Supervise
and support Study Counsellors and field staff to ensure effective
implementation.
- Provide
on-site guidance, mentoring, and performance monitoring for district teams.
- Support
training and capacity-building initiatives for field staff and stakeholders.
Monitoring,
Documentation and Reporting
- Monitor
field activities to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Consolidate
district-level reports and submit regular updates to the central project team.
- Track
key indicators such as participation rates, follow-ups, and operational
challenges.
- Support
documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and programme outcomes.
Operational
and Logistics Management
- Coordinate
logistics related to field activities, including scheduling, resource
allocation, and stakeholder communication.
- Identify
implementation challenges and propose practical solutions in collaboration with
the central team.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health,
Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in programme
coordination, community health projects, or NGO sector implementation roles.
- Demonstrated experience managing field teams and
coordinating with multiple stakeholders.Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving
skills.
- Ability to manage timelines, reporting requirements,
and operational processes effectively.
- Languages – Hindi and English (spoken and written);
local dialects are an advantage.
