The Monitor Technician observes, interprets, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to identify deviations from the norm. They are responsible for maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring timely detection of cardiac abnormalities.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and either possess a monitor technician surveillance certificate or obtain one within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool is required to be released from orientation.

High School Grad or Equivalent
Any previous health care experience can be considered. Basic understanding of cardiac monitoring or EKG is strongly desired.
