Position Overview We are a growing orthopedic and spine surgery practice seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our clinical team. The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support to physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals while ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
This position plays a vital role in maintaining efficient patient flow, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, assisting with orthopedic treatments, documenting patient information accurately, and supporting the daily operations of the practice. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining and documenting medical histories, medications, allergies, vital signs, and chief complaints.
Escort patients to examination rooms and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit.
Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and office procedures.
Apply and remove casts, splints, braces, slings, and orthopedic devices as permitted by state law and training.
Assist with injections, aspirations, wound care, dressing changes, suture and staple removal, and other orthopedic procedures.
Prepare, clean, and stock examination and procedure rooms while maintaining proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Accurately document patient encounters and clinical information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Coordinate diagnostic testing, imaging, referrals, insurance authorizations, and follow-up appointments.
Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, post-operative instructions, and the proper use of orthopedic equipment.
Maintain adequate inventory of clinical supplies and notify management of shortages.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control standards, and all practice policies and procedures.
Assist with front office functions as needed to support efficient office operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA or equivalent nationally recognized certification) is required.
Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a certified medic al assistant preferably in orthopedic, spine surgery, sports medicine, pain management or another surgical specialty.
Experience with casting, splinting, durable medical equipment (DME), and orthopedic terminology is preferred.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 30 pounds, and assist patients throughout the workday.
Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, excellent attendance, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
