The Access Information and Referral Specialist manages the flow of referrals and serves as a primary point of contact for community partners and individuals seeking mental health or substance use services. They are responsible for conducting screenings, verifying insurance eligibility, and facilitating warm transfers to appropriate clinical staff.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED with at least two years of experience in the human services field. Proficiency in electronic medical records and knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder systems are required.
The Access Information and Referral Specialist provides information and referrals to individuals seeking services for mental health, substance use disorders, and/or intellectual developmental disabilities. Assist individuals in navigating the OCHN network, OCHN policies/procedures, and Access process. Determine the appropriate information and referral for the individuals which may include Access screening, community referrals, other county Access departments, Oakland County Core Provider Agencies, Oakland County Customer Services department, Crisis Providers, and others as applicable. |
