Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and previous patient care experience. A CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required, while EMT-B or CNA certifications are preferred.

The Emergency Department Tech’s (EDT) primary function is to assist and support the Professional Registered Nurse in all aspects of direct and indirect patient care activities. The Emergency Department Tech (EDT) functions as a member of the unit staff under the direction and supervision of the professional Registered Nurse and ED Physician.
