Position Overview
The Financial Sales and Service Specialist is responsible for assisting customers with their banking needs, such as providing information, recommending appropriate products and services, and opening various types of accounts. This individual will also perform operational and transactional duties to support office needs. As a more experienced member of the team, this individual must fully demonstrate the organization’s Unwavering Service Standards and have the knowledge and ability to answer more complex questions and perform more advanced operational duties. In addition, the Financial Sales and Service Specialist will be responsible for building customer relationships and having in-depth financial conversations with customers and prospects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Opens deposit accounts and takes loan applications.
Responds to customer questions, quotes rates and payments, recommends services.
Helps with account maintenance such as address changes, change of account signers, etc.
Provides accurate information and assistance to internal and external customers.
Facilitates the loan process from origination through closing.
Provides direct service to customers of the organization with respect to deposit products and services; supplies pertinent information on other products and services, e.g., loans, trust, etc., as needed.
Interviews customers to obtain information and explain available services such as Savings and Checking Accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, Loan Applications, etc.
Seeks out new opportunities to deepen relationships with current clientele through suggestive sales techniques.
Participates in sales activities focusing on prospective clientele, both personal and business.
Ensures work tasks and activities are completed in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Maintains confidentiality of customer information.
Provides customer service information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of monthly and year-to-date performance reports.
May process transactions & operations, when required, and within technical abilities.
Education & Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in a business curriculum.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in related positions preferred.
Notary experience preferred or ability to obtain notary as needed.
Ability to obtain and properly maintain a National Mortgage Licensing Registration (NMLS #) in order to take applications for loans that are secured by residential real estate is a requirement of this position.

Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of policies and procedures; supervisory skills sufficient to provide guidance, train, oversee, or informally supervise employees; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less; visual , auditory and speaking skills; valid driver’s license is required.
