We're leading the future of snacking with iconic global and local brands such as Oreo, Cadbury, Philadelphia, Pascall, The Natural Confectionery Company, Belvita, Ritz and Toblerone with global revenues exceeding $31 billion USD.

Claremont is the largest Cadbury factory in Australia and Southern Hemisphere. Recently celebrating 100 years in production, the site delivers 200 million blocks, and 50,000 tonnes of chocolate annually, including other iconic products like Cadbury Freddo, Twirl and Caramello Koalas.

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior HSSE specialist to join our Team, where you will collaborate and work with the site leadership team and other key stakeholders to implement site specific HSSE initiatives to drive best practice, risk management and for creating a strong safety culture.  You take pride in your work and will drive toward a culture of zero incidents and an optimum environmental footprint.  HSSE programs will be well implemented and meet the relevant standards and regulations in the Plant.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Assist with cultural transformation regarding HSE to help lead plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents
  • Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes
  • Some understanding of OHS Act, Regulations, and standards is advantageous
  • Provide support in maintaining the State Self-insurance through the maintenance of Risk Management systems, preparation for Self-insurance audits and closing out corrective actions where required.
  • Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities
  • Follow up on non-conformances and develop the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis
  • Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillar team/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
  • Support technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards/aspects assessments are conducted, the accident both caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced and energy and waste are driven down

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in:

  • Ideally 7+ years’ experience in similar HSSE role
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety
  • Solid experience in safety, and environmental technical standards, especially within production or fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels
  • You are motivated and driven to learn and develop
  • You must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency
