Candidates must hold an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering and have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and knowledge of industry standards like ASHRAE and SMACNA are required.

The Mechanical Engineer focuses on the design and engineering of HVAC and mechanical utilities for buildings. Typical tasks and deliverables include load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, P&IDs, schedules, installation details, equipment and system selection and specification, and coordination with manufacturers and trade partners. Tasks will also include utilizing software for building information modeling, computer-aided drafting and engineering calculations. Project work will be under the direction of a more experienced engineer and may include all levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration. This individual may also delegate basic and fundamental tasks to entry-level engineers and designers.
