The Hatch Vacation Student Program provides the opportunity to work on real projects and gain practical industry skills. We will help you through the transition, bridging the gap between your education and career.
As part of the Rail team, you will gain exposure to rail engineering and consulting activities across a diverse range of transportation and infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals and may be involved in various stages of project delivery, from planning and feasibility studies through to detailed design and implementation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects that help shape sustainable and efficient rail networks for communities and industry.

You bring to the role:
You will be working towards a bachelor/master’s degree in Civil Engineering, ideally in your third year (or later) of study, with a strong academic record. Candidates will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and will be collaborators with the ability to think laterally and innovatively to solve problems. You will also have an interest in exploring a future with a global consulting company and are committed to creating positive change.
The 12-week program commences on Monday, 23 Nov 2026. Please note, during this time Hatch will have its annual office closure from COB Friday, 18 December 2026 and will reopen Monday, 4 January 2027.
