In this role, the Divisional Quality Engineer takes full ownership of continuous improvement initiatives to minimize transit damage, reduce packaging claims, and safeguard product integrity. Serving as the essential bridge between internal operations and external partners, you will collaborate with suppliers, customers, customer service, transportation carriers, and manufacturing plants to reduce claims and foster a sustainable quality culture.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Procurement, material suppliers, and transportation carriers to optimize packaging component quality, analyze shipping lanes, and co-develop load-securement strategies to eliminate transit damage.
Support Sales and Customer Service teams by translating unique customer packaging demands directly into customer preference matrices and the ERP system to ensure seamless execution and site-level compliance.
Visit manufacturing plants and customer sites to audit compliance with packaging standards, evaluate equipment health, provide capability training, and maintain ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.
Qualifications
BS degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred, or mechanical aptitude within another technical discipline).
Minimum of 2 years engineering experience at an ISO9001 manufacturer
Ability to travel up to 30% (customer travel, manufacturing site visits, and internal audits).
Demonstrated experience creating procedures, processes, programs, and practices under ISO 9001 (or a similar quality system) to ensure continuous improvement, conformance, and efficiency.
