Summary
The Seats Program Manager is responsible for leading customer seating programs while also managing the lifecycle and business performance of Jamco’s standard seating products. This role combines program leadership with product ownership to ensure customer satisfaction, on-time and on-budget delivery, and strong product value. The manager acts as the central point of coordination between internal teams, customers, and suppliers to deliver successful seating solutions and drive product improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:
Program leadership and execution
Owns the full lifecycle of a seating product across multiple customer airlines (Development, Production and in-service)
Leads Cross-Functional teams (engineering, supply chain, cost analyst, quality, manufacturing)
Develop and execute program-strategy ensuring delivery of products within cost, schedule and requirements
Define program schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
Create and maintain Program Plans and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
Support the RFQ process by validating scope, cost, and resource needs.
Maintain overall ownership of standard seating products throughout their lifecycle.
Manage change requests, product updates, and feature enhancements in alignment with customer and market needs.
Establish schedules for product rollouts, updates, and customer deliveries
Track, forecast, and communicate cost impacts of product changes.
Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, quality, supply chain) to implement product changes and improvements.
Monitor product performance and customer feedback to identify opportunities for enhancement.
Support marketing and sales teams with product knowledge and strategic input.
Customer and stakeholder management
Acts as the primary customer interface for program and contractual matters.
Acts as the primary interface with the OEM or STC Applicant.
Conducts milestone meetings with relevant parties (ITCM, PDR, CDR, ETC)
Reports program financial, schedule and requirements performance to executive management.
Financial Management
Responsible for budget planning, forecasting and overall program financial performance to plan and reports
Identifies, prepares and negotiates contract change notices.
Risk and Opportunities Management
Identifies program risks (technical, financial, schedule and develops mitigation strategies)
Seeks opportunities to expand scope and capture follow on contracts
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience/Knowledge
Position requires completion of a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in business management or equivalent related work experience, engineering degree preferred. Typically requires a minimum 7 years passenger seats program management experience in the aircraft industry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to effectively interact with employees and customers.
Responsibilities
This job is expected to demonstrate proficiency in implementing a variety of work processes, functions and procedures involved. The employee has specific authority to select appropriate work methods and techniques to complete assigned activities. Emphasis is placed upon the accurate recall and prioritization of assigned tasks. The scope of work performed requires coordination and integration of tasks among departmental employees and may involve responsibility for ongoing contacts with customers, employees, vendors and contractors.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
