Overview
Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering students to join our Charlotte, North Carolina (NC) office's Power Delivery team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
Pre-Design Engineering
Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
Perform field investigations.
Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.
Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables.
Perform feasibility studies.
Prepare schematic designs.
Design Engineering
Design of electrical systems including Ports & Harbors electrification, electric vehicle charging, and building electrical
Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses.
Participate on project teams in an active production role
Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.
Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.
Design lighting selection and controls.
Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies using ETAP and/or SKM
Qualifications
In the process of receiving an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree (Bachelors or Masters)
