Full job description
This role serves as the primary architect and facilitator of the Creighton Intercultural Center’s (CIC) educational curriculum. Responsible for transforming complex concepts, such as bias awareness, intercultural humility, and inclusive leadership into actionable, high-impact learning opportunities for the entire student body. This is more than an administrative role; it is a pedagogical leadership position. Develop standalone and integrated educational content that reinforces the core competencies of intercultural competence, and partner with the leadership team to gather and analyze longitudinal data, ensuring our educational efforts are measurable and effective. This role will also act as a mentor and guide to our student Cultural Ambassadors, supporting their growth as they develop their own peer-to-peer programming.
This role is fundamental to the university’s mission of creating an inclusive, socially responsible campus culture by equipping students and staff with the essential tools for meaningful engagement across differences.
Will require working occasional evening and weekend hours for events.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with faculty and staff to educate and engage students and student leaders to understand the complexity of cultural self-awareness. Assist in analyzing social, cultural, and systemic issues that students encounter in their daily interactions.
Assess the need for and create educational and competence initiatives for Creighton students and student organizations. Develop education with other Student Life offices that focus on fostering collaboration, inclusion, and shared responsibility.
Accompany our student Cultural Ambassadors in the development of their programs as requested. Assist students in integrating knowledge, experience, and reflection to address complex academic, personal, and social challenges.
Collect data that allows for assessing intercultural education and competencies, both on a program-by-program basis and longitudinally.
Assist with signature programs and oversight of C.I.C.’s daily operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., Psychology, Education, Human Resources) required; master’s degree preferred.
5+ years of related work experience
Experience developing and leading education and programming
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks.
Contemporary knowledge of current events, political contexts, and national issues affecting college students and campus life.
Familiarity with inter/intra-group dialogue
Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and experience utilizing social media technologies.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet time-sensitive deadlines and prioritize workload with minimal supervision; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
