What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for the operation of the center standards function, which includes the discipline and behavioral adjustment system, student incentive system and management of significant incidents, in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential functions:
Provide overall supervision for center standards through effective planning, staff scheduling and student participation in establishment of rules.
Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training and implement personnel changes as approved by the center director and coordinate with the manager, human resources prior to implementation.
Develop and monitor departmental budget, control expenditure; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.
Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting student standards of conduct; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives.
Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
Determine and administer disciplinary action for students who have violated student standard of conduct; counsel students when their behavior on and off center is inappropriate.
Coordinate and monitor review board and peer court functions and actions.
Coordinate student discipline with other center staff and maintain documentation of records and reports on activities.
Conduct orientation and training on disciplinary system for staff and students; prepare and update student disciplinary handbook.
Coordinate preparation of behavioral significant incident reports for review by center director.
Act as liaison between courts and other judicial agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED AND REQUESTED SKILLS:
Associate’s degree and two years related experience, one of which should be in a supervisory capacity. Direct related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements. Experience with youth,excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
