You will partner with stakeholders across the company to provide guidance and drive smart, legally compliant, and “members first” solutions.
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively within and outside of the legal department to help ensure that LinkedIn products and processes are compliant with applicable laws and regulations relating to consumer protection, security, and privacy.
Advise on AI development and deployment-related compliance matters
Assist in building and sustaining a best-in-class AI governance program
Provide legal counsel on relevant consumer product and feature development.
Document counseling and help organize and drive legal processes.
Stay current on policy issues and legal developments relating to social media platforms.
Advise teams on legal issues related to data management and use.
Draft clear, consistent disclosures and terms to enable our members and customers to make informed choices about their data and use of LinkedIn’s products.
Collaborate and build relationships with industry peers.
Attend ongoing industry working groups and training on relevant subject areas.
Play an active role in fulfilling LinkedIn's mission of connecting the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful by being an integral member of our fast-paced, well-rounded, collaborative, and FUN Legal & Public Policy team.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years' related legal experience, with a focus on product counseling, privacy/data protection counseling, and/or IP-related counseling.
J.D. and admission to the bar or the ability to practice in-house in your office location.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in advising clients on topics relating to AI, privacy, and consumer law.
Experience in solving data-related legal matters, including communicating and collaborating effectively with engineering teams on data flows and similar technical matters.
Experience working at a technology company (including prior experience in non-legal roles such as engineering, product management, marketing, or sales).
Experience providing counsel on, or demonstrated understanding of, the issues faced by social media companies.

You are a self-motivated team player with the ability to learn quickly, identify and resolve legal and business issues, drive projects and earn both the confidence and cooperation of your business partners.
You have high standards, strong communication skills, impeccable integrity, unquestionably good judgment, strong analytical skills, intense compassion for others, and a keen sense of humor.
You can work independently, but also like to be part of a diverse team.
You are effective in a fast-paced environment where you will be expected to give quick, clear, and concise legal advice.
You like to work with business partners and enable business goals, and you are interested in online services and media.
