Responsibilities
You will develop and maintain the full stack of the Intrinsic Factory Experience web application, including user interfaces and backend infrastructure. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and ensure a cohesive user experience for factory operations.
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in frontend web engineering and extensive experience with full-stack development using languages like Rust, Go, or Python. Proficiency in building visually-rich web applications and integrating databases is essential for this role.
Full job description
Intrinsic is an AI robotics group at Google aiming to reimagine the potential of industrial robotics. Our team believes that advances in AI, perception and simulation will redefine what’s possible for industrial robotics in the near future – with software and data at the core.
Our mission is to make industrial robotics intelligent, accessible, and usable for millions more businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers. We are a dynamic team of engineers, roboticists, designers, and technologists who are passionate about unlocking the creative and economic potential of industrial robotics.
Role
The Intrinsic Factory Experience is an integrated human interface to define, manage, and monitor highly orchestrated factory operations. We build tools to help forward-thinking factories deploy intelligent, flexible manufacturing workflows at scale. Our tools help manufacturing process designers to optimize their resources, factory managers to make sense of their operations, and floor workers to strategically direct their attention.
We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic Factory Orchestration team. In this role, you will be responsible for not only developing human-machine user interfaces (HMI), but also optimizing the performance and functionality of client-side rendering, server-side databases, and integration with other backend APIs in Intrinsic. You will develop the full stack of web interfaces for end-to-end factory orchestration tasks and play a vital role in the development of our frontend libraries and components, ensuring a cohesive and user-friendly experience for all customers. The interfaces you build will shape our product and the role of the human in it.
You are excited by the prospect of owning critical pieces of our user experience (including collaborating with the Product and Design teams, and developing tests). You have excellent development skills across the web application stack and are excited to be part of a world-class, innovative, frontend team.
How your work moves the mission forward
Develop intuitive and innovative interfaces in collaboration with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
Own the full stack of the Intrinsic Factory Experience web application, from database design to user interactions.
Build and maintain the backend logic and infrastructure of the frontend, including server-side functionality and client-side state management.
Monitor and improve the health (performance, robustness) of the Intrinsic Factory Experience.
Skills you will need to be successful
At least 3 years of experience with frontend web engineering, including proficiency in building client-side (TypeScript/Javascript) software.
Extensive experience in building the full-stack, including server-side (Rust, Go, Python, etc.) software.
Experience with building visually-rich web applications that enable deep user interactions.
Familiar with integrating databases, user-access control, and basic authentication/authorization into web apps.
Ability to work with Rust, both for backends and compiled to web assembly for front ends.
Skills that will differentiate your candidacy
Experience integrating web apps with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Ability to design scalable web apps.
Understanding of interface cohesion across a variety of network bandwidths, multiple screen sizes, and differing client-side hardware.
Experience building dashboards aimed at various user personas.
Experience with creating and maintaining an intuitive, high quality, accessible system of reusable frontend components in collaboration with Design and Product teams.
The base salary for this full-time position is between $147,200 - $200,900 (USD) + 15% bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
