The role is responsible for implementing Group objectives regarding regulatory strategy and public policy to support growth and protect the company's reputation. This includes managing expectations across various markets and promoting the organization as a digital thought leader.
Requires a degree in Law and Public Policy, with a Master's degree (MPA) being advantageous. Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience, including 5 years in regulatory affairs and 3 years in a management role.

The Regulatory Affairs and Public Policy unit must therefore ensure the successful delivery in context of:
- A highly dynamic and evolving ICT environment
- A variety of public policy and regulatory regimes at various levels of maturation represented in the MTN ecosystem
- The geographic complexity of MTN’s foot print
- Management of executive and local shareholder expectations across all MTN Opcos
- Management of customer and supplier expectations
- Enhance MTN position as a leading a thought leader
- Promoting MTN position as a leading operator in a bold new digital world
- Constantly changing economic, regulatory and legal environments with ever increasing challenges in domestic markets in MTN’s ecosystem
- The geographic complexity of MTN’s foot print across Africa and the Middle East
