Digby Wells Environmental is looking for an organised, detail-focused and service-driven Senior Accounts Payable and Finance Business Partner to support our Accounts Payable, Projects and Finance teams.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to financial processes, strengthening controls, supporting accurate reporting and partnering with stakeholders to enable sound financial decision-making.
What you’ll be responsible for
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant and efficient finance administration across the business, including:
- Processing supplier costs, administrative expenses, project expenses, debit orders and card transactions.
- Managing staff claims, staff creditor accounts, petty cash, travel cards and forex reconciliations.
- Processing receipts and payments into the cashbook and preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
- Preparing monthly VAT submissions and supporting balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
- Monitoring creditor ageing and supplier balances to ensure timely payment.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit-ready documentation.
- Managing vendor and tender administration, including BBBEE information and supporting documentation.
- Providing input into cash flow and supporting monthly financial reporting and analysis.
- Assisting with audit requirements and resolving accounts payable-related audit queries.
- Supporting the review and improvement of creditors, procurement and internal control processes.

Requirements
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who is dependable, highly organised and comfortable working with detailed financial information. You should be able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and engage with stakeholders in a professional, solutions-focused way.
You will likely thrive in this role if you have:
- Financial administration and bookkeeping experience.
- Working knowledge of financial principles and statutory requirements, including VAT, debtors, invoicing and cost accounting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and multitasking ability.
- Strong communication skills and a trustworthy, reliable work ethic.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with South African financial regulations.
- French language skills would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the mining or consulting industry would be beneficial.
Qualifications and experience
- 7–10 years’ experience in a similar role.
- A degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Previous experience in an international organisation would be beneficial.
- Experience with Microsoft Navision, Business Central or Microsoft BI would be advantageous.
