We are looking for an experienced Content & Communications Lead to drive editorial planning, content development, and digital communications for a leading African organisation. This contract role is ideal for a strategic content professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance planning, stakeholder management, content governance, and social media strategy.
You will work closely with communications teams, creative specialists, and business stakeholders to develop compelling content programmes that enhance employee engagement, strengthen corporate communications, and elevate digital presence across multiple channels.
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in content planning, communications, editorial management, social media, or content strategy.
Experience working within a corporate, agency, or large enterprise environment.
Proven experience managing editorial calendars and multi-channel content programmes.
Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders, creative teams, and senior leadership.
Strong understanding of content strategy, storytelling, and audience engagement.
Demonstrated experience managing content across social media and employee engagement platforms.
Experience with LinkedIn and enterprise communication channels.
Familiarity with social listening and analytics tools such as Meltwater or similar platforms.
Experience managing content repositories, SharePoint, or digital asset management systems.
Excellent copy-editing and content quality assurance skills.
Strong understanding of content governance, approvals, and publishing workflows.
Exceptional organisational and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to translate business objectives into engaging content plans.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Proactive problem solver with strong decision-making abilities.
Ability to analyse content performance and provide strategic recommendations.
Experience supporting internal communications and employee engagement initiatives.
Experience developing social media strategies and content frameworks.
