We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Senior SHQ Consultant with a good track record in delivering across a broad range of projects and programmes. The successful candidate would be responsible for leading and / or supporting in the Safety, Health & Quality team’s delivery of projects in Ireland in accordance with legislative requirements and Turner and Townsend internal quality, health & safety and environmental procedures.

PSDP
Preparing and submitting project AF1
Confirming what safety file information exists and ensuring it is available to design team
Ensuring coordination of the different design safety aspects of the design, between the various design disciplines.
Leading design health & safety workshops as required and challenge design assumptions as appropriate
Preparing and updating high level design risk register
Preparing Preliminary Safety and Health Plans
Inputing into the health and safety requirements for the Tender documentation and reviewing health & safety aspects of tender submissions
Agreeing with the client the contents and format of the Safety File
Attending design and progress meetings throughout the lifecycle of the project
Coordinating temporary works between the permanent and temporary works designers
Working with the PSCS and design Team to prepare and submit the Safety File to the Cllient on completion of projects
SHQ Consultancy
Undertaking inspections / audits and reporting to the client in an agreed format
Reviewing and commenting on project health & safety documentation – e.g. Construction Stage Safety & Health Plans, Emergency Plans, Risk Assessment Method Statements, Temporary Works and Lift Plans.
Reviewing records of statutory inspections
Attending RAMS review, high risk workshops and other meeting as required
Attending accident and incident reviews and report to the client on causation
Providing expert advice, assistance and support on HSE requirements
Qualifications
The candidate will have the following key attributes:
Have extensive knowledge of Irish safety, health and environmental legislation and understanding of construction best practice
Have knowledge of the implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management system standards
Be familiar with a variety of construction projects and a sound understanding of the safety and health issues associated with that work
Be a problem solver with the capacity to analyse situations, diagnose problems, identify key issues and produce logical, practical and acceptable solutions
Have excellent communication / interpersonal skills including the ability to prepare / deliver presentations and lead meetings
Possess the ability to compile inspection / audits reports and undertake statistical analysis (e.g. trend analysis) in a timely manner
Be assertive, fair and consistent when implementing client, company or legislative requirements
Ability to work to strict deadlines and handle conflicting priorities
Have commercial awareness and be able to identify and pursue business opportunities
IT literite, being proficient in the use of MS Office as a minimum
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a similar qualification awarded by a recognised institution
Lead Auditor
Possess a full Irish driving license
Circa 10 years + relevant experience
Membership of a recognised professional body is preferable
