About Us
For over two decades, The Boundary has been at the forefront of digital excellence. With a global team of 150+ experts across London, New York, Dubai, and Auckland, we partner with the world's leading developers to deliver unparalleled architectural storytelling.
Founded by award-winning architects, our work sits at the intersection of design intuition and technical mastery. From pioneering digital twin infrastructure to the seamless integration of AI and real-time technology, we don’t just anticipate the future of the industry; we are already building it.
The Opportunity
Title: Senior Architectural Visualisation Artist (Multimedia Designer)
Location: Freemans Bay, Auckland
Work Type: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 per annum
This is a unique chance to join our growing Pre-Rendered team based right here in Auckland. Led by a Executive Creative Director who recently relocated directly from our London studio, our local team is actively expanding to shape the future of Architectural Visualisation across the APAC region. Joining at this exciting phase gives you direct access to world-class IP, proprietary global workflows, and industry leading knowledge, combined with the agile, collaborative energy of our local team.
What You'll Do
We are seeking a Senior Architectural Visualisation Artist (Multimedia Designer) who is obsessed with photorealism and visual storytelling. You will be trusted with complete autonomy, leading projects from concept to final delivery. This is a role for a master of the craft who thrives on pushing creative and technical boundaries.
What You'll Bring
For this Senior position, we require a minimum of 6+ years of experience (preferably built in a studio environment). A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred, however in line with ANZSCO requirements, significant industry experience (5+ years) in a Multimedia Designer capacity will be considered. Your profile must demonstrate:
A Portfolio of Excellence: A comprehensive portfolio showcasing your keen eye for lighting, composition, and cinematic language.
Technical Mastery: Proficiency in the core ArchViz pipeline, including 3ds Max and Corona/Vray, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional file hygiene. Experience with Unreal Engine or AI-integrated workflows (ComfyUI/SD) is a massive plus.
Design Fluency: The ability to understand and interpret architectural design packages (drawings, schedules) and translate them into compelling visual content.
Complete Autonomy: You will be trusted to lead projects from start to finish, producing images, animations, and VR experiences with complete independence.
Strong Leadership: The ability to confidently lead clients, mentor peers, and direct creative outcomes.
Comprehensive Animation Expertise: Essential knowledge of traditional animation workflow, including camera animation, moving assets, and proficiency in editing software (After Effects, Premiere, etc.).
Curiosity and Growth: A willingness to push boundaries, experiment, and constantly improve.
Teamwork: The ability to provide and receive constructive and honest feedback.
Location & Collaboration
Our work thrives on shared vision and in-person collaboration, making this a primarily office-based role in our Auckland studio. We offer some flexibility for hybrid work, but we are not accepting fully remote candidates at this stage.
As an Accredited Employer, we can support visa applications for the right talent for this role, provided you are prepared to relocate to Auckland at your own cost.
