Analyze and underwrite new and renewal Construction Casualty business while managing relationships with agents and brokers. The role involves monitoring underwriting guidelines and proactively seeking growth opportunities through detailed account assessments.
Requires a high school diploma and 1-6 years of experience in insurance, underwriting, or market-facing roles depending on the level. A bachelor's degree and professional certifications like CPCU or CRIS are preferred.
Zurich gives you the tools and support to construct a rewarding career in the Insurance industry. We are looking for an Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist, Construction Casualty to work remotely in Tennessee or Alabama supporting our Southeast region.
As Construction Casualty Underwriter you will have a chance to use your marketing and analytical skills along with your knowledge to analyze and underwrite new and renewal Construction Casualty business both in the US. This is a market facing position and we are seeking someone with a strong sales execution mindset and knowledge of commercial Construction Casualty policies. There will be 15%-20% travel for this position.
This role will be filled at either the Underwriter, Construction Casualty or Underwriting Specialist, Construction Casualty. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The combined salary range for this position is $57,000.00 - $117,900.00. The proposed salary range for the Underwriter is $57,000.00 - $93,300.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Underwriting Specialist is $72,100.00 - $117,900.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
