Summary
The Civil Technician works closely with the Civil Crew Lead (Foreman) to assist in pouring foundations, installing fencing, installing grounding, and maintaining the area surrounding towers.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities
Safety First – Put safety first and production second. Always.
Assist in grounding, terminations, fastening, proper bolting and antioxidant use, support of leads, cadwelding as required, etc.
Assist on the overall job, including groundwork, all tasks required to build and install a site per customer specs, maintaining a safe work environment, daily use and completion of JSA forms, assisting with overall crew work, maintenance of vehicles and equipment, etc.
Assist in the coordination, preparation, and cleaning of job sites.
Participate in continuous training offered by Legacy, including weekly safety calls.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
This job operates in a field environment. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to routinely bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, lift 50lbs or more, lift in awkward positions, stand, and twist for extended periods.
Must be willing to travel out of market/state for up to several months at a time (90%).
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
Must be willing to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Must be able to work in a team environment and be a valued member of the crew and the company.
Must be able to read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc.
Must be able to operate different types of equipment such as backhoe, forklift, electrical and hand tools, etc.
Successful completion of industrial first aid and rescue training.
Soft Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and by email with team members and clients.
Must be able to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
Must be able to work on a team and independently as required.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements set forth in ANSI Z359 for fall protection gear.

None.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Workdays and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with some overtime requirements.
Travel
Weekly travel is required for this position. Usually between 80 to 100% of the time.
Education and Experience
Required:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Preferred:
OSHA 10 or 30

Required Knowledge:
General construction knowledge to include knowledge of construction equipment/machinery
Mechanically included
Electrical/electronics education a plus
Basic Rigging
Must have complete knowledge on use and care of basic hand tools and power tools.
Must have valid Driver's License and the ability to obtain a DOT physical certification. CDL Class A certification a plus.
