Position: Drug and Alcohol Counselor Location: Topeka, KS Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 for new employees, paid out in two installments!
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at KVC, you’ll take on a critical role in providing education, consultation, and training to KVC staff, helping them gain the knowledge and skills to better support children and families affected by substance use disorders. You’ll make a difference in the lives of families by offering:
✔️ Training & Support for staff on substance use disorders and their impact on families. ✔️ Assessments & Treatment through individual, family, and group sessions. ✔️ Collaboration with treatment providers to ensure continuity of care. ✔️ Engagement Strategies to motivate families to seek help and find the right treatment.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a field licensable by the Kansas BSRB required.
Experience: Previous experience working with vulnerable and at-risk children and youth.
Licensure/Certification: Current Addiction and Prevention Credentialed Counselor through the KS BSRB required. (May apply for temporary license)
Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and must be at least 21 years old.
