About the role

The City of Sydney has an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join our friendly and professional Work Health and Safety Team that work across several areas to keep our employees safe, happy and healthy. 

In this role, you’ll provide professional WHS advice, deliver specialist expertise, and implement best practice systems and processes across the Chief Operations Office Division. 

The role is responsible for coaching, guiding, and supporting staff to build internal capability, enhance site safety, and drive continuous improvement in safety outcomes.

We’re looking for someone with:

• tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety
• demonstrated knowledge of statutory legislation and regulatory obligations that impact Work Health and Safety, operational activities, and organisational compliance
• well developed interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and prepare clear, accurate documentation.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month. 

The recommended applicant must complete a pre-employment health declaration, medical assessment and criminal history check.
