Job Title:
Marriott School-Management - Christlike Leadership – CFS Professional Faculty
Posting End Date:September 1, 2026
*NOTE: Last day to apply is Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (MST)
Position Start Date: July 1, 2027
Required Degree:
Bachelor's degree.
Advanced degree strongly preferred (e.g. Master's degree or PhD).
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience: The Marriott School at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, invites applications for one (1) full-time professional faculty position to teach and administer a required undergraduate course, “Leadership and the Gospel of Jesus Christ: Becoming a Disciple Leader” (MSB 300). Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, relevant business management and leadership experience, a clear commitment to teaching excellence, a demonstrated ability to support students in online, in-person, or hybrid learning environments, a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and a strong understanding of how to apply gospel principles to leadership in a variety of contexts, including in a professional setting. Candidates with previous teaching experience are preferred, including experience teaching business cases.
Duties/Expectations:
We are seeking a candidate who is highly qualified and passionate about teaching leadership in a way that is grounded in the truths of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The successful candidate will teach and administer MSB 300—a required course for all BYU Marriott undergraduate students. The class will be offered in multiple modalities to accommodate student needs, including a traditional classroom format, entirely online, and a hybrid/blended format.
MSB 300 has three objectives: (1) to help students gain a deeper knowledge and heartfelt understanding of the doctrine of Christ, the restored gospel, and the plan of salvation, (2) to help students understand how to apply gospel principles in the work of leadership in their professions, in their communities, in their families, and in the Church, and (3) to help students develop identities as both disciples of Jesus Christ and as Christlike leaders. The course is taught using gospel resources (scriptures, general conference talks) and business cases.
In addition to teaching, the faculty member supporting this course will be expected to:
administer MSB 300, including course scheduling and the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of adjunct faculty as needed;
develop and deliver course content effectively through online, in-person, and hybrid formats;
coordinate the course curriculum, including assessment practices and ongoing course improvement;
collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the educational quality, consistency, and effectiveness of the course;
strengthen the faith of students through personal testimony, inspiring learning experiences, and teaching that connects leadership principles with the gospel of Jesus Christ; and
participate in appropriate forms of service to the department, school, and university.
This professional faculty position has no research expectations.
Candidates must be available to begin full-time employment by the start date. The anticipated teaching load for this position consists primarily of MSB 300 sections and related course administration, including content development, delivery, assessment, mentoring, and curriculum coordination.
Documents Required at the Time of Application:

BYU is committed to hiring faculty members who enthusiastically embrace and energetically advance its unique mission. To this end, please include a one-page mission alignment statement as part of your application that addresses how you might, as a BYU faculty member: (1) live a life of loyalty to Jesus Christ and His restored Church and align yourself with doctrine and teachings declared by living prophets, seers, and revelators; (2) demonstrate intentionality in building faith in Jesus Christ and testimony of His restored gospel among students and others in the BYU community; and (3) teach your subject matter with the Spirit of God and strive to keep it “bathed in the light and color of the restored gospel” (Spencer W. Kimball).
If you are not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:
Applicants who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints include a one-page mission alignment statement that describes understanding of and commitment to the Mission of Brigham Young University and the AIMS of a BYU Education.
