Oversee and challenge business risk owners to ensure compliance with AML/CTF obligations and alignment with the Fund's risk appetite. Lead the development and maintenance of the Fraud and Corruption Control Program while acting as the Fund's AML Officer.
Requires extensive experience in AML/CTF and fraud control frameworks within a regulated financial services environment. Candidates should hold or be willing to obtain a risk management accreditation from bodies like RMIA or GIA.

Your New Role
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Compliance, the Senior Manager, AML/CTF & Fraud is a key member of AustralianSuper’s Group Risk team. You will independently oversee, challenge and advise business risk owners and Line 1 teams to ensure compliance with AML/CTF obligations and alignment with the Fund’s risk appetite.
You will also play a critical role in strengthening the Fund’s approach to financial crime risk, including fraud and corruption and perform the AML Officer role for the Fund.
Key duties include but are not limited to;
Maintain an effective AML/CTF Program and fraud risk management framework aligned to regulatory obligations and the Fund’s Risk Management Framework.
Provide enterprise-wide leadership and advice on financial crime risks to strengthen risk awareness, decision-making and accountability.
Oversee emerging risks, control effectiveness and remediation to improve resilience to money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud and corruption.
Participate in change management processes to identify AML/CTF & fraud risks associated with new or changing products, services and operations.
Provide independent oversight and challenge of First Line fraud and corruption control activities.
Develop, maintain and oversee the Fraud and Corruption Control Program, including Fund-wide guidance on controls.
Liaise with law enforcement agencies and support investigations into suspicious or unusual activity.
Build relationships with regulators and stakeholders to support strong governance and timely risk response.
What You’ll Need
Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.
Extensive experience in AML/CTF, including the AML/CTF Act and Rules, within a regulated financial services environment.
Strong understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing risks, and associated compliance obligations.
Proven ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders and embed effective risk and control practices.
Experience developing and overseeing fraud and corruption control frameworks and programs.
Well-developed analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
Demonstrated integrity and ability to meet Fit & Proper requirements for the AML Officer role.
Experience managing complex priorities and delivering outcomes under pressure.
